目白に、花合が根を張る。 Kago Takes Root in Mejiro

花札の「役」から生まれた店名A Name Born from Hanafuda

「花合」という店名は、花札の江戸時代の呼び方「花合わせ」から来ています。一枚では意味を持たない札が、組み合わさることで役になる―――様々な感覚を持つ人がこの店に集まって、自分だけのお気に入りを見つけて欲しい、という思いを込めました。目白駅から徒歩4分、階段をのぼった先の3階に店を構えました。目白の街に根を張る、普段使いの居場所として、気軽に立ち寄っていただける店を目指しています。

The name "Kago (花合)" comes from "hana-awase," the Edo-period term for hanafuda card games — a single card means nothing on its own, but combined with others it becomes a winning hand. It carries a wish: that people with different sensibilities would gather here and find something that's their own. We are on the third floor, up the stairs, a four-minute walk from Mejiro Station. We hope to be an everyday place rooted in Mejiro — somewhere you can drop in easily.

フードの中心はベーグル。フムスやスモークサーモン、人参のラペなど、デリのように好きな具材を選んで組み合わせるカジュアルでヘルシーなスタイルです。コーヒーはONIBUS COFFEEから仕入れたスペシャリティを提供します。夜はビールやグラスワイン、カクテルを楽しめる時間に、同じ空間が表情を変えます。

昼間は明るく暖かみのある、落ち着いた中にも活気のあるカフェを、夜は人々の集合場所、文化の発火点など、様々な顔を持つ、誰もがチルできるようなバーを目指します。

Food centers on bagels — a casual, healthy style where guests pick and combine deli-style toppings such as hummus, smoked salmon, and carottes râpées. Coffee comes from specialty beans sourced through ONIBUS COFFEE. At night, the same space takes on a different character, with beer, glass wine, and cocktails.

By day, the aim is a bright, warm café that's calm but alive; by night, a bar that can be many things at once — a gathering point, a spark for culture — somewhere anyone can relax.
